Hummer & Son Honey Farm was brought to life in 1985 by the late Stanley F. Hummer and his son, William S. Hummer, who was putting together a project for his 4-H club. William went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Pest Management and a minor in Entomology from Louisiana State University and is the past-president of the Louisiana Beekeepers Association. After he graduated from college, Hummer & Son began to pack their honey for retail sale. Brookshire’s was instrumental in making this local product available to their customers. Now, Hummer & Son produces and packs hundreds of thousands of pounds of pure Louisiana honey each year for folks throughout North Louisiana, Southern Arkansas and East Texas. Their honey is carefully culled from clover, rattan, pepper vine, aster and many other small blooming floras. Hummer & Son is proud to have won numerous first place State Fair awards for their honey.
