The seeds of the Falcon family rice business were planted in Crowley, Louisiana, in 1942, where Cajun Country Rice came to be. Edward and Evelyn Falcon started the business from a small enterprise and soon added a milling operation in 1950. Falcon Rice Mill began selling rice under the names Ed’s, Randy’s, and Falcon Rice. Later, other brands were developed to include the Cajun Country brand of long, medium, whole grain brown, jasmine and popcorn rice. The Falcon Rice Mill has remained the only family run rice mill in the country. The company is producing over 900,000 CWT hundred weights a year around the country.
