Benton Elementary Christmas on the Square – Elementary students were assisted by Brookshire partners decorating Christmas trees for Benton Christmas festival and then they were served hot chocolate and cookies at the store.

Minden Farm City Prayer Breakfast – Brookshire Grocery was Co-Sponsor of the Prayer Breakfast. Partners served breakfast, coffee and orange juice during the event. It is a local event that recognizes local agriculture.

Minden High – The management staff attended and presented a $1,000 check to Minden High during the halftime of the football game.

Benefit – Five partners volunteered for thirty hours selling hot dogs, drinks and collecting donations to benefit the local police department raise money to buy bulletproof vests.

St. Jude’s Telethon – During the annual St. Jude’s Telethon partners answered the phone and took pledges. They volunteered for 24 hours.

Minden Farm-City Prayer Breakfast – Four partners served breakfast, juice and coffee to local farmers for sixteen hours. This is an annual event that recognizes local agriculture.

National Night Out – Partners joined forces with the David Raines Community Health Center to host this annual event. They sampled fruit, orange juice and passed out trinkets for the children and conducted bingo games for the adults. Eight partners volunteered for 24 hours.

VFW – Four partners worked with the VFW to serve lunch to senior citizens at the VFW concession booth during the Webster Parish Fair.

Med Camp – Partners raised $370 selling hot dogs, chips and drinks for Med Camp. This is a summer camp for children with physical disabilities.

Fuller Center for Housing – Partners volunteered to work with other volunteers in the community to help construct a house for a local resident. They volunteered 24 hours.

St. Jude Auction – During the Minden St. Jude Auction partners helped answer the phone lines for donations. They volunteered 7 hours.

Farm-City Annual Prayer Breakfast – Partners volunteered to help serve at the annual breakfast to show their appreciation to the local farming community.

Ouachita Parish High School Soccer Team – Partners helped prepare and sell hamburger plate lunches with all proceeds benefiting Ouachita Parish High School. They raised $1,003 for this benefit. This is the second year Brookshire’s helped sponsor this event.

Susan Komen Race for the Cure – Brookshire’s is a sponsor of the annual Susan Komen Race. All proceeds from event help fund breast cancer research. Partners volunteered 25 hours for the race/walk.

Webster Parish Humane Association Fundraiser – Partners sold hotdogs and drinks for this fundraiser. They raised over $245 for the charity. They also assisted with animal adoptions.

ASPCA – Four dogs were adopted during this event.  Over $300 was raised for the local shelter. Partners sold hotdogs and helped with dogs.

Quachita Jr. High School Social Studies Fair – Partners donated 3 hours of their time judging a Social Studies Fair held at the school.

St. Jude Auction – Minden held their annual auction to benefit St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Several of our partners volunteered their time to assist answering phones and taking donations.

Assisted a Local Family – Partners helped assist a family in the community that lost everything due to a house fire. They cooked and sold hotdogs, nachos and drinks.
