I’ve developed a new habit: a really, really good habit.
Almost every morning, I stop at Brookshire’s to pick up a hot, fresh, delicious breakfast from the deli.
I tend to prefer the tender, creamy scrambled eggs with a side of crispy bacon. Oh, let’s be honest: the bacon is the main attraction. I don’t know what they do to the bacon, but there’s something about it that is infinitely better than the kind I can make at home.
I also enjoy the pigs-in-a-blanket, either the cheese or the plain variety.
Sometimes I’ll get sausage with my eggs, either the link or the patty variety. Either way, it’s delicious.
They also have buttery, flaky biscuits. They’ll make them any way you want them: with gravy, with sausage, with an egg and sausage, or with an egg and bacon. It’s a breakfast sandwich of my dreams.
Sometimes there are hash browns, firmly fried eggs or pancakes.
Breakfast at Brookshire’s is always the best way to start my day, even more so when the wonderful employees who work early mornings miss me when I’m not there!
