Company News: Remodeled Brookshire’s in Tyler celebrates grand reopening

TYLER, Texas, July 8, 2015 – A grand reopening celebration began today at the remodeled Brookshire’s Food Store, located at 2020 Roseland Boulevard in Tyler. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony featured Chamber of Commerce COO Henry Bell. Store Director Eric Kosmer also presented charitable donations to Good Shepherd School, Hogg Middle School and Bishop T.K. Gorman Catholic School.

With the addition of 1,100 square feet, the supermarket’s renovations reflect a modern design throughout, beginning outside with a new storefront and a single, relocated entrance. Other cosmetic updates include new interior and exterior signage, paint, lighting and décor, along with many energy-efficient and sustainable features such as polished concrete flooring and an automated lighting control system for refrigerated and freezer cases. The store also received new check stands, new customer restrooms and a new fleet of shopping carts.

Departments throughout the store were updated to feature an expanded variety of products and services. In produce, customers can find more organic selections, as well as fresh-cut fruits and vegetables and freshly squeezed juices. The renovated bakery offers tortillas and bolillo rolls baked in-store daily, along with custom cakes for all occasions. In the deli, customers can select from several convenient, ready-to-eat meal options and get gourmet deli meats and cheeses sliced to order. The freshest cuts of meat and seafood are available at the full-service market counter, with custom cuts available upon request. An expanded variety of fine wines and craft beers are available in the relocated beer and wine section. Additionally, the store offers more gluten-free products and an increased variety of health foods and supplements. A self-serve bulk section will also soon be installed.

Brookshire’s updated pharmacy will continue to fill name-brand and generic prescriptions, while offering a full selection of non-prescription medicines and health and personal care products. The generic prescription program provides savings on 30-, 60- and 90-day generic prescriptions.

All BGC stores feature the NuVal nutritional scoring system, which scores food on a scale of 1 to 100. The higher the NuVal score, the better the nutrition. Customers can use this at-a-glance program to easily determine the overall nutritional value of products and make informed decisions.

The grand opening festivities will continue throughout the following weeks with special giveaways and promotions. From July 8-12, the first 500 customers will receive a free item coupon each day starting at 8 a.m. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through July 26, customers who spend $100 or more in a single transaction will receive 1,000 bonus yourpoints (some exclusions apply). In addition, customers who fill new or transferred prescriptions at Brookshire’s pharmacy through Oct. 14 will receive 1,000 free yourpoints. More special offers will be featured in the weekly grocery ads.
