Company News: Brookshire’s in Longview Celebrates Grand Reopening

LONGVIEW, Texas, March 4, 2015 – Grand reopening festivities began today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the remodeled Brookshire’s Food Store in Longview, located at 3354 Gilmer Road. Mayor Jay Dean, Chamber of Commerce President Kelly Hall were among those in attendance. Store Director Bryan Jackson also presented charitable donations to the Spring Hill Independent School District, House of Hope and the Longview Chamber of Commerce’s Main Street Program.

Among the renovated supermarket’s features are a new storefront and new signage, paint and décor throughout. An expanded assortment of organic produce, along with fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, are available in the updated produce department. In addition, customers can purchase fresh meat cut-to-order in the market department and find an increased variety of fresh seafood options. The expanded beer and wine section features a wider assortment of imported wines and craft beers, while the updated bakery offers custom-made cakes and fresh tortillas made in-store daily.

Other updates include refinished customer restrooms, new check stands and expanded indoor and outdoor floral display areas. Additionally, the installation of polished concrete flooring, which requires fewer cleaning agents, and an automated lighting control system will help decrease the store’s impact on the environment.

The updated pharmacy will continue to fill name-brand and generic prescriptions, while offering a full selection of non-prescription medicines and health and personal care products. The generic prescription program provides savings on 30-, 60- and 90-day generic prescriptions. Pharmacy hours are 9am to 7pm Monday through Friday and 9am to 6pm on Saturday.

All Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods stores feature the NuVal nutritional scoring system. With NuVal, thousands of items throughout the store are scored on a scale of 1 to 100. The higher an item’s NuVal score, the better the nutrition. Customers can use this at-a-glance program to easily determine the overall nutritional value of products and make informed decisions.

The grand opening festivities will continue throughout the following weeks with special giveaways, promotions and sampling events. Customers who fill a new or transferred prescription at the pharmacy will receive 1,000 free yourpoints, which can be used for discounts on fuel or groceries. In addition, throughout March customers who spend $50 or more in a single transaction will earn bonus yourpoints (see store for exclusions). More special offers will be featured in-store and in the weekly grocery ads.
