Company News: Second Annual FRESH 15 to Benefit Four Charities

FRESH 15TYLER, Texas, Sept. 8, 2014 – It’s time to get out your running shoes as Tyler-based regional grocery chain Brookshire Grocery Co. gears up for the second annual FRESH 15, set for March 7, 2015, at FRESH by Brookshire’s in Tyler.

The event will once again include a 15k, 5k and kids’ 1k race and several post-race activities, with all proceeds benefiting Tyler’s Bethesda Health Clinic; FitSTEPS for Life; Team Red, White and Blue; and The SEAL Legacy Foundation. In addition, FRESH will host a pre-race dinner March 6 to benefit the four FRESH 15 charities. More details will be announced soon.

“We are ecstatic to once again offer Tyler and the surrounding areas a world-class running event through the FRESH 15,” said Trent Brookshire, senior vice president – division manager for BGC. “Brookshire Grocery Company places a great emphasis on giving back to the community, along with encouraging health and wellness, and we are happy to support the missions of these four charities with whom we share common values. Last year’s event surpassed our expectations, and we are working to make this year’s event even more exciting.”

The inaugural FRESH 15, hosted in March, raised more than $80,000 for Bethesda Health Clinic and the American Heart Association and drew more than 2,800 runners from across Texas and the U.S., including several elite runners.
