To maintain a healthy lifestyle you have to not only eat healthy and engage in physical activity but you also have to practice proper food safety. The first place to start with food safety is to look at where you store your perishable foods. Your refrigerator should maintain a temperature between 34-40°F to prevent the growth of bacteria. If you are not sure if your refrigerator is maintaining a proper temperature buy a thermometer to stick in your refrigerator and check it often to see if it is maintaining a temperature between 34-40°F. Also, think about where different types of foods are stored in your refrigerator and where the warmest spot of your refrigerator is. The storage area in your door is the warmest spot in your refrigerator. You should not store your eggs and fresh meat in the door; with the opening and shutting of the door those foods are exposed to frequent changes in temperature.
