Community Coffee got its start in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1919, in a small store where Cap Saurage sold coffee and other groceries to his neighbors. With the family name and pride at stake, Cap knew he had to serve the best-tasting, highest quality coffee possible. By 1919, Cap had discovered a secret blend that was richer, bolder and smoother than any coffee around. He named his popular coffee “Community Coffee” to honor his friends and neighbors. Four generations later, the family is still selecting, roasting and perfecting coffee blends. Using only the top 10 percent of beans available, Community Coffee employees still taste the coffee every day to ensure it’s still what they’d want to serve to their own family and friends.
