Pancake Day Fundraiser – Store Director and Kiwanis member, Steve Gilpin spent 14 hours assisting at the Terrell National Guard Armory for the Kiwanis Pancake Day Fundraiser.

Terrell Chamber of Commerce Auction – One partner attended the dinner and participated in auction activities for six hours. Also, the store donated an item for the auction.

ExtraPoint Program – One partner volunteered for three hours greeting people, giving out coupons and encouraging people to text in the word ‘Terrell’ to help their school win extra money beyond the $1,000 check presented during halftime.

Run for the Wall – Five partners volunteered for fifteen hours passing out water and other drinks to over 300 motorcycle riders going from California to Washington DC in remembrance of those who were lost in the war.

Relay for Life – Twelve partners and family members walked in the relay, sold fruit cups and did various other activities to raise money for the Kaufman County Relay for Life for forty-seven hours.

Terrell Heritage Jubilee – Four partners volunteered to participate in the set up and ran in the Terrell Jubilee 5K run. Two partners ran and two others passed out water and bananas to runners.

Kiwanis Pancake Day – Pancake Day is an annual fundraiser for the Terrell Kiwanis Club. Six partners volunteered twenty-four hours to cook and served over 1,000 people between 6 am and 8 pm.

Kiwanis Watermelon Party – Partners cut up and served watermelon to patients at Terrell State Hospital.

Run for the Wall – 500 + bikers started in California and travel across the U.S. headed to Washington D.C. They stop in Terrell for a rest and refuel break. Partners set up canopies and a tent for shade. They iced down and gave out water and isotonics and helped with the refueling of all the bikes. At the end the partners helped tear down and clean up.

Veterans Appreciation – Partners assisted with putting up tables and chairs for the Veterans appreciation program. After it was over they assisted cleaning the National Guard Armory and picked up trash. They volunteered for sixteen hours.

Terrell Heritage Jubilee – Yearly festival and partners assisted the Chamber of Commerce judging, parking and helped with the business booth. Five partners volunteered for forty-two hours.

Taste of Terrell – All proceeds from this event were given to the Terrell ISD Excellence Foundation. Partners showcased our Yum’s cupcakes to over 600 participants. They volunteered over 10 hours.

Run for the Wall – Over 1,000 spectators lined the parking lot and over 400 bikes showed up for this event. Brookshire’s donated water and Gatorade for riders and spectators and held a raffle for a quilt to support the local memorial that is being built.

Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration – In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday partners read Dr. Seuss books, helped with arts and crafts and served a Dr. Seuss cake to the children.

Black History Month – Partners provided the food at the annual celebration of Black History month at the high school. They focused on educating people on the importance of knowing history.

Kiwanis Toy Drive – Partners donated over 22 hours to assist in boxing toys and filling up stockings for needy area children.

Run for the Wall POW – MIA – Bikers ride from LA to Washington and Terrell community joined together to support and donate to this event. Bikers stop at Brookshire’s every year. Brookshire’s donates water while others donated gas and food. The bikers gas up at Brookshire’s and food and drink are set up for their hour-long visit and lunch before heading out. Our partners handed out water, Terrell pins and wished them well on their journey. Store Director Steve Gilpin was awarded a plaque.
