Food Drive – Five partners gathered at the store to assist a local food organization gathering and sorting grocery items. The partners gathered and boxed the items for 24 hours.

December 12 and 19, 2015
Salvation Army Bell – On two occasions, several partners volunteered their time to set up outside the store and ring the bell for the Salvation Army. They volunteered for 24 hours.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters – Five partners and their families attended Big Brothers and Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake. The store sponsored food for the event and also participated in the bowling event. All money that was raised stays in Lamar County and benefits our local youth and family members.

Dylan’s Drivers Rides – Dylan’s Drivers is a non-profit organization that provides confidential rides for people who may be impaired. Nine partners and family members volunteered for 22 hours. Their team took second place in the burger cook-off.

2015 Tour De Paris – Partners contributed their time by holding one of the busiest rest stops in the Rally. They handed out needed essentials to the riders. Store Director Shannon Beech participated in the rally. They volunteered for 126 hours.

Mother’s Day Cakes – Partners visited ten local schools to help the children express their creativity through helping them decorate Mother’s Day cakes to give to their mom, grandmother or other relative for Mother’s Day. They volunteered for one hundred and eighty-six hours for this event.

The Walk of Hope – Five partners volunteered for the 1st Annual Walk of Hope for twenty-eight hours. The Walk of Hope is to raise awareness for victims of crime. The partners served hot dogs, drinks and chips to participates.

4th Annual Paris Wine Fest – Partners volunteered to showcase items from the deli and bakery. The event was held in the downtown historic district.

Annual FRESH 15 Race – Five volunteers from the store participated and/or volunteered at the Annual FRESH 15 Race held in Tyler, Texas.

Month of December 2014
Local Food Bank – Several partners from the store volunteered to help a local organization gather and sort grocery items. The partners gathered the items and distributed them into boxes. The boxes were taken to local needy families during the holiday season.

Salvation Army Bell – Several partners volunteered to ring the Salvation Army Bell during a two-day period. All proceeds benefited the Salvation Army.

Kid’s Safe Saturday – Partners volunteered for twenty-nine hours for the Kid’s Safe Saturday. The store set up a bounce house and gave out free hot dogs and drinks. The local firefighters, police dept. and sheriff’s dept. came and set up an information booth and gave the kids a tour of the fire truck and police cars.

Benefit – Partners from the store came together and helped a family in need. Others in the community helped by putting together a BBQ benefit and live auction to help a child with his medical needs. Partners volunteered for one hundred and twenty-four hours.

Tour De Paris – Fifteen partners volunteered to set up a rest stop and they handed out essentials to the riders. They volunteered over two hundred and fifty six hours.

Rotary Fireworks and Bucket Fundraiser – Fifteen partners volunteered to help with the fireworks and bucket fundraiser for seventy-five hours.

Relay for Life – Twenty partners participated in the annual Relay for Life for two hundred and thirty four hours. They set up a booth and sold items and all money raised went towards their Relay for Life goal.

Jr. Special Olympics – As the kids completed their events partners awarded them with their medals. Six partners volunteered for fifteen hours.

Rotary Club Chili Cook-Off – Partners participated in the chili cook-off and they were awarded the best enthusiastic team, best dressed team and best decorated booth. They volunteered for twenty-three hours.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake – The store sponsored the food for the event and had enough partners for two teams to bowl. Their team won Best Team Spirit Award for two year in a row. They volunteered for twenty-nine hours.

Paris Wine Fest – Partners set up a booth in the Carriage House and had several tastings of cheese. The deli made several fruit and cheese trays to sample at the event. They volunteered for fifty-six hours.

Fresh 15 – Three partners volunteered to run and cheer participants in the race that was held at Fresh in Tyler.

Kid’s Safe Day – Volunteer partners set up games and activities for kids in the parking lot. Also the fire dept., police dept., etc. were there to assist during the day. Partners volunteered for twenty-one hours.

Dylan’s Drivers – Partners volunteered for forty two hours to help with an organization that makes sure to help keep drunk drivers off of the roads by offering rides to people that need them. They volunteered to help run the concession stands during the day.

Paris Fire Department – Partners raised and donated water and Gatorade for the local fire department. They raised $437.11 for the event and volunteered for 32 hours.

2013 Tour De Paris – Store volunteers contributed their time by holding one of the busiest rest stops in the Rally. There were 13 partners at the rally to help hand out all of the needed essentials to the riders and volunteered for 178 hours

Relay for Life – The night of the relay store volunteers sold snow cones, glow sticks and rings and they raised over $2,000.00 The theme was “A Night at the Movies”. They volunteered over 267 hours.

Decorate Cakes – Partners volunteered fifty hours of their time to let the local schools decorate cakes for Mother’s Day. They assisted nine classes at various schools.

Lamar County Meals on Wheels – The store set up a bounce house, sold hot dogs, chips and drinks and all proceeds benefitted Lamar County Meals on Wheels program.

Lamar County Jr. Livestock Show – Partners attended the annual Jr. Livestock Show in support of area youth. Also, they purchase animals from the youth.

Paris Wine Fest – Four partners volunteered for sixteen hours sampling items from the deli. They set up a demo table in one of the local shops downtown and let participants try new items from the deli. Event proceeds helped fund the Paris Main Street BIG program.

2013 Bowl for Kid’s Sake – Ten partners attended the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Bowl for Kid’s Sake. They donated twenty-four hours to the event. The store donated the food and all money that was raised stays in Lamar County and benefits the local youth and family members. They won the Best Team Spirit Award and they donated $500.00 to Big Brothers and Big Sisters program.

3rd Annual Ultimate Super Bowl Tailgate party and Chili Cook-Off – Event was sponsored by the Rotary Club. Ten partners volunteered for fifty-one hours to make a pot of chili and all money raised from the event supported the area wide Rotary programs. They won the best-decorated team.

Kings Daughter’s – Several employees joined together with this local organization and gathered food for the needy families during the holiday season. They collected food and put them in boxes to deliver to the families so they were able to have Christmas dinner with their families.

Festival of Pumpkins on the Square – Partners set up a booth and sold $5.00 food bags for the local food pantry, provided games for the children and signed up customers for Your Points. They volunteered fifty-seven hours for this event.

Annual Red River Valley Awareness Walk – All proceeds benefited the Red River Valley Awareness Chapter that recognizes and supports citizens with Downs Syndrome. Twenty-five partners helped set up and support the Rally. They raised $250.00.

Tour De Paris – Brookshire’s sponsors the annual Tour De Paris bike race. Fifteen volunteers and family members from the store helped hand out all of the needed essentials to the riders. They volunteered one hundred and seventeen hours.

Relay for Life – Partners raised over $2,500.00 that benefited the American Cancer Society. They held bake sales, sold t-shirts and raffled Six Flags Tickets to meet their goal. They volunteered over 241 hours.

Month of May
Meals on Wheels – During the month of May, partners contributed their time to help benefit their local Meals on Wheels organization. They raised over $3,500.00 and volunteered over eighty hours. In return they were presented with a hamburger luncheon.

Salvation Army – Partners took time out of their busy schedule, before and after work to contribute to the Salvation Army Ring The Bell in front of the store. They volunteered 16 hours.

King’s Daughter Food Drive – Volunteers from the store helped this local nonprofit organization in town prepare 60 food baskets for families in the Paris area. It took 15 hours to complete this task. King’s Daughter delivered the baskets.

Angel Tree – Partners volunteered over 75 hours for the annual Angel Tree. This event benefited 103 families, gave 99 food baskets, provided gifts to 236 angels, gave 176 coats, 96 bikes, 7 tricycles and ride on toys.

Tour De Paris Bike Race – Volunteers from the store volunteered over 85 hours at the Brookshire Pit Stop Tent. They handed out fruit and water to over 800 participants in the race.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kid’s Sake – Partners raised $363.00 in a two-week period in addition to taking the time out of their day to bowl for two hours. They won Best Team Spirit and Best Team T-shirt.
