Football Concession Stand – Three partners volunteered to cooked and serve hamburgers at the concession stand for 12 hours. All proceeds benefited the Athletic Booster Club.

Back to School Tailgate – Five partners set up a table and held a drawing for two $25 gift cards and gave out samples from the bakery. They volunteered for five hours.

Relay for Life – Eleven partners walked at Ashdown High School Track for four hours. They raised money by selling burger dinner plates and all of the money raised was donated to the Relay for Life organization.

Community Health Fair – Two partners were able to provide people in town with information and answer any questions they had pertaining to their medications or health for four hours.

Junior Achievement – One person taught the students about money management and entrepreneurship. The students were able to learn these things by playing games and working in groups forming ideas.

Parent Day – One partner went to LF Henderson School and talked to 4th and 5th graders about her job and the education that is required to become a pharmacist.

Junior Achievement Teacher – One partner taught the school children at LF Henderson Intermediate School about local businesses and how to manage money and how to save and not overspend. They learned by playing games and talking to other classmates.

Car Show and Fun Day – Five partners volunteered to work at the car show for 20 hours and all proceeds from the day benefited the Ashdown Food Bank.

Back to School Health Event – Two partners volunteered to set up a booth at the school’s Back To School health event and they talked about the NuVal program and other health options that the store offers.

Rotary – Each week the store director meets with the Rotary Club for an hour.

Junior Achievement – One partner assisted one hour each week at the local elementary school for Junior Achievement.

Parade – Partners assisted the City of Ashdown with the Christmas Parade.

Taste of Little River County – Three partners volunteered for thirteen hours sampling items from the bakery and deli department. Event was put on by the Chamber of Commerce to promote shopping locally.

Football Games – During the home games at the local high school partners worked the concession and the Panther Den (souvenir shop).

Relay for Life – As a team fundraiser, partners sold hamburger combos for $5.00. Team members cooked, waited on customers and ran errands. Twelve partners volunteered for seventy-five hours.

Whistlestop Festival – Brookshire’s sponsored the half marathon and partners were at drink stations for the runners and gave away water, Gatorade and fruit. All proceeds benefited Merchants and Historical Society and Museum.

City Beautification – Partners cleaned up around a customer’s hours in town so that it would look better for the whistlestop festival. They cleaned up and mowed.

Little River County Health Fair – Pharmacy partners set up a tent and passed out materials, treats and door prizes. Also, they were available for questions. This was a community event for residents on the courthouse lawn.

Taste of Little River County – The deli and bakery participated with other vendors for food samples and offered items they will offer during the holidays. Partners volunteered for 15 hours.

August 27, 2011
CASA’s 3rd Annual Ted Capeheart Invitational Golf Tournament – All proceeds from the tournament benefited abused and neglected children served by local SASA the Texarkana Children’s Advocacy Center. Partners volunteered to serve hotdogs for event.

C. D. Franks Elementary – Brookshire’s sponsored a table with information regarding the NuVal Nutritional Scoring System. Partners showed parents how to use the system when planning their children’s lunches and while shopping.

Meet the Teachers Night – Two partners volunteered for six hours at the Meet the Teacher Night. They displayed food choices and explained the NuVal system to show parents how to make healthier selections.

Ho Ho Parade – Parade held for children and pets with Santa. Partners assisted with the parade that was held around the Little River County Courthouse that allowed children to ride their bikes, ride in strollers and walk.

Santa Claus at the Chamber of Commerce – Partners participated in the Little River Chamber of Commerce Christmas party. They took pictures of children after the Christmas parade.

The store participated in the Little River County Health Fair at the courthouse.
