Truck Driver Logs 1 Million Safe Miles

Truck Driver Logs 1 Million Safe Miles Alan Worster, a BGC truck driver based at the Monroe Distribution Center, completed one million miles without a preventable accident on Friday, May 22, at mile-marker 36 near Monroe. Worster joined the company in 1992, originally serving in the warehouse then becoming a truck driver in 1995.

 

Worster is a two-time winner of BGC’s coveted Driver of the Year Award. A regular competitor in the Truck Driving Championships, Worster has won the local level twice and won in his class three times at the state level. He is the first BGC driver to have advanced to the National Truck Driving Championship three times.

Worster will receive a specially designed “million-mile” ring at the company’s safe driving awards this fall. His portrait will be on display at BGC’s corporate offices with the other million-mile honorees: Dan Powell, Dan Pereira, Tommy Thompson, Thes Freeney, Lynn Lusk, Marvin Miles and Tony Hester.

“Alan’s record speaks for itself,” said Scott Reily, vice president - logistics. “His safety record reflects his professionalism and commitment to excellence in everything he does. We are extremely proud of Alan and congratulate him on this tremendous accomplishment.”
