1. With type 2 diabetes, your body can't use insulin property.
2. Even normal and underweight people can get type 2 diabetes, because it runs in families. Heavier people are indeed at a higher risk, however.
3. Type 2 is increasing in younger people—even children—especially those who are overweight and inactive.
4. Total carbohydrate intake has the biggest affect on your blood sugar levels. That's not a particular diet, but rather an awareness of types of food.
5. Some people can take pill medications and others can avoid all drugs by exercising and managing the foods they eat.
