Three employees from the Mansfield Road store volunteered to read to elementary students during “story time” at Summer Grove School.

 

Sept. 7, 2009

A large group of employees from Brookshire’s stores in Shreveport helped raise money for cancer research at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Employees also served refreshments, and the company’s overall team attendance was approximately 200.

 

Aug. 23, 2009

At the Everything Green Expo, employees set up their recycling equipment and displayed environmentally friendly paper towels, tissue and cleaners, as well as the store’s reusable bags.

 

Aug. 8, 2009

Several employees helped distribute more than 300 backpacks to needy children at Praise Temple Church.

 

Aug. 1, 2009

Employees assisted Special Olympics contestants at the Holiday Lanes Bowling Alley.

 

July 4, 2009

Employees from the Kings Hwy. Brookshire’s participated in the Highland Children’s Parade.

 

May 7, 2009

Teams from North Market and Bert Kouns volunteered at the Special Olympics at Parkway High School.

 

May 2, 2009

The team from Brookshire’s on North Market participated in the Great American Clean-Up and helped clean up the neighborhood near their store.

 

May 1, 2009

Employees from all Brookshire’s locations in Shreveport participated in the United Way Day of Caring. Projects included painting a house, painting at the YMCA and work at a Boy Scout ranch.
