How do you turn a sandwich into a fun snack? Make it a stick-wich!

Kids love things that are different and fun. And if it's food, it's extra-special if you can eat it with your fingers. Use pretzel sticks or skewers or even a drinking straw to make sandwiches on a stick.
Thread alternating pieces of bread, cheese, deli meat, tomatoes, lettuce and pickles onto the stick and….presto! What a fun way to have lunch.
There's one catch, though. It's much better to thread cubes of meat and cheese onto the sticks, instead of mere slices. Brookshire's can help, though: just go to the deli! Ask the deli clerk to slice your meat and cheese ½-inch thick instead of the usual sandwich style cut. This is the perfect thickness to make tasty and fun cubes to slice on the skewers.
Let kids make their own sandwiches on a stick, or surprise them with a tray full of ready-to-eat lunch skewers!
Serve with a squeeze of ketchup or mustard for dipping. Stick-wiches make great lunch box choices, too. Use a pretzel or straw for the skewer, though, for safety's sake.
