Planning a Super Bowl Party?
Think ahead for a better party.

If you're planning to have the gang over to watch the big football championships, do a little prep work now to avoid problems at game time:
- De-clutter the house in advance. Get rid of fancy knick-knacks that could get broken during a disputed pass-interference call.
- Bring in extra furniture. Additional seating, folding trays, and anything else that can make your guests comfortable is a smart idea.
- If you're having a football potluck meal, take care to have the bases covered, so to speak. Make sure you don't end up with a dozen dips and no main courses
- Have a non-football sanctuary set up for those who aren't big game fans. This could be an area in the kitchen (where folks can help keep the food flowing), or even a patio area outside, if weather permits.
- Consider the traffic flow of the television area. There needs to be easy access to food and drink without interfering in the viewing of the game; access to electrical outlets for appliances; and an easy supply of water, paper towels and dishes.
- Keep the decorations to a minimum. Everyone's in a party mood, but they came to watch the game. Don't distract guests with streamers, music and other festivities.
