Bingo at Passman Plaza Retirement Center – DiSaird partners donated their time to play bingo with the residents. They also presented a program regarding dealing with pain and the difference between generic and brand name drugs. They passed out coupons to the residents for Topcare products.

 

July 17, 2010

Care and Share Food Drive – Partners collected food for families of disasters in the community. This program is coordinated with the food stamp office to get supplies to the people that are in need.

Support the Troops – U.S. Soldiers Foundation partnered with Brookshire’s and recently held a drive to collect items for our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. They boxed the items to send directly to the soldiers. These items collected make life a little easier for our soldier’s morale and spirit.

 

June 30, 2010

Bingo – Partners from our DeSiard store donated their time to play bingo with 20 residents and checked their blood pressure and provide information about high blood pressure at Passman Center.  The winners of bingo were provided prized donated from Brookshire’s. 

 

June 19, 2010

US Soldiers Foundation – Store team from our North 18th St. teamed up with US Soldiers Foundation to raise money to send care packages to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. They raised and also collected a bin of product to put in the packages by customers of the community. The response to the event was overwhelming and the customers were truly grateful they were doing this event for our soldiers.

 

June 16, 2010 

Jogging for Jake  - Our DeSiard St. Brookshire’s held a benefit for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. They decorated 200 bottled waters  and had balloons advertising our pharmacy.

The Great American Bake Sale was held to benefit Feed the Children’s Foundation. Team of partners from our North 18th St. held a bake sale, hamburger lunch sale and other activities on the parking lot. The money donated helps area children to eat.

Community Food Drive for Seeker Springs – Our North 18th St. location sold Food Bags to help Seeker Spring with their summer kids program.

The store in Highway 165 teamed up with the Lions Club for free eye screenings for kids.

Ears for Evan – Partners from the North 18th St location volunteered their time to help raise money for hearing aids for Evan. They sold hot dogs and drinks and took other donations for Evan.  Evan’s parents were very thankful for the contribution that Brookshire’s and the community made to help them.

A group of employees from the North 18th Street store manned the phone bank at the Labor Day Telethon benefiting the MDA.

Nearly a dozen employees painted and cleaned three houses for Habitat For Humanity.

For two weekends, a group of volunteers from Brookshire’s on North 18th Street helped at the book fair to benefit the Monroe Symphony League.

Employees did another appreciation cookout in Monroe, La. to thank the law enforcement and firefighters in Monroe and West Monroe.
