Destination Imagination Competition- Haughton, La., May 20-23

A group of Haughton Middle School students have been selected to represent Louisiana at the annual Global Destination Imagination Creative Problem Solving Competition in Knoxville, Tenn.

 

Patriot Golf Classic- Tyler, Texas, May 18

The UT Tyler Patriot Golf Classic raises funds to support several scholarships for deserving students. Brookshire’s will again participate in this event at Hollytree Country Club.

 

Children’s Classic Golf Tournament- Shreveport, La., May 18

Again this year Brookshire’s will help sponsor the Hal Sutton Children’s Classic Golf Tournament. The tournament raises funds for the Hal Sutton Foundation, which supports Sutton Children’s Medical Center.

 

Golf Tournament- Lindale, Texas, May 18

The 23rd annual golf tournament, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Hideaway Lake, benefits area children’s charities, scholarships and community programs.

 

Cause for the Paws- Tyler, Texas, May 17

Brookshire’s is pleased to donate YUMS cupcakes to the event to be used as a fundraiser. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of East Texas.

 

Stagecoach Days Festival- Marshall, Texas, May 16

Stagecoach Days is a celebration of Marshall’s part in transportation history. The festival includes arts, crafts and games.

 

Bowl for Kids’ Sake- Paris, Texas, May 16

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the major fundraiser of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas. Proceeds are used throughout the year to provide services to area youth.

 

Scholarship Assembly- Mexia, Texas, May 14

Mexia High School seniors will gather for an assembly to honor those students who have received scholarships. Brookshire’s is pleased to present its scholarship to a deserving high school senior.

Bluebonnet Invitational- Whitney, Texas, May 11 

The 8th annual golf tournament, hosted by the White Bluff Ladies Golf Association, benefits numerous charities in the Whitney area.

 

Power Run/Walk- Shreveport, La., May 9

The 5K Power Run/Walk is hosted by the Parkinson’s Disease Resource Center. Funds raised are used for research grants to local scientists.

 

Founders Day Festival- Emory, Texas, May 9

All proceeds from the Founders Day Festival, hosted by the Rains County Chamber of Commerce, benefit the Rains County Volunteer Fire Departments, Rains County Good Samaritans and the Rains County 4-H Club.

 

Race for the Cure- Tyler, Texas, May 9
Brookshire’s is excited to participate in the 2009 Race for the Cure to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Proceeds are donated through Susan G. Komen for the Cure for breast cancer research. Brookshire’s not only is a sponsor of the event, but always has numerous volunteers that participate in the event.

Brookshire’s is once again a sponsor of the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball. This year’s theme is The Great Gatsby. The ball raises funds for education and research related to heart disease.

 

Picnic in the Park- Tyler, Texas, May 2

The 2nd annual Picnic in the Park benefits the Andrews Center Behavioral Healthcare system. This year’s event will be held in Bergfeld Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Cowpoke Celebration- Tyler, Texas, May 1 

Owens Elementary School holds the annual Cowpoke Celebration so fourth grade students can enjoy a day of learning and fun activities centered around the history of the livestock industry in Texas.

 

Mineola May Days- Mineola, Texas

The annual festival will include arts and crafts, food vendors, carnival and live entertainment. Proceeds are used to market the businesses of the Mineola area.
