Manufacturing Operations Recognized!

Manufacturing Operations Recognized!The company’s dairy plant recently captured a first-place award at the 2009 World Dairy Expo Championship with Food Club Whole Chocolate Milk. The company’s ice cream plant took third place in the orange sherbet class and blueberry yogurt class with its Food Club brand. Products were judged on overall quality related to texture, appearance, flavor and taste with some being judged on bacteria content and melting point, as well. The event drew more than 65,000 dairy enthusiasts, producers, industry personnel and visitors from around the world for world-class cattle shows and the biggest dairy trade show on earth.

Also, BGC’s dairy and ice cream plants recently received the Superior Worker Safety Award from the International Dairy Foods Association. According to the IDFA, the purpose of the program is to recognize processing facilities and trucking operations that demonstrate excellence in safety based on safety records from the past year. All BGC manufacturing facilities completed fiscal 2009 with no lost time injuries.
