Cooking is magic. It's so special to be able to provide food for others, and kids enjoy being the ones to do it.
Here's a recipe for chicken quesadillas that is suitable for slightly-experienced young cooks. At the bottom are even-easier instructions for beginners.
Children should always have an adult present to keep things safe and progressing, but especially so when a stove is involved.
This is a great way to use up leftover chicken from last night's dinner!
Easy Chicken Quesadillas

1 tsp. canola oil, divided
2 10-inch flour tortillas

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. While the pan is heating, assemble the quesadillas. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of chicken over half of each tortilla. Top with 1/2 cup of cheese. Fold in half. Place one quesadilla at a time in the skillet. Let it cook 2 minutes until golden brown on one side. Flip with tongs. Cook another 2 minutes until cheese is melted and the quesadilla is brown on the other side. Remove to a plate. Repeat with remaining quesadillas.
