It’s a treat to get to leave the kids at home with a sitter and have a night alone.
Having the perfect sitter makes things easier. Here are a few things you should let your sitter know so that both of you are comfortable and she keeps coming back!
Let her know what you expect. This includes topics like friends (hers or your kid’s) coming over, talking on the phone and using the Internet.
Review the house rules when your children are present. This will deter any undermining they might have been thinking of.
Be specific about times: when you’ll be home, when the kids should eat and when to go to bed.
Let her know what situations warrant a call to you.
Make sure she knows where to find the necessities. Point out the first-aid kit and emergency numbers.
Let her know how much you appreciate her help.
Call if you’re going to be late, pay her in cash when you get home and ask her how everything went.
She’s more likely to come back if she’s appreciated.
