Brookshire’s hosted a “sneak peek” open house for the public at the new store Tuesday, Sept. 26 from 5-7 p.m. Visitors sampled products from every department and saw the local sports décor throughout the store.
“Brookshire’s is very excited about the new store in Celina,” said Ron Gentry, store director. “Our goal is to provide our customers with the best service, quality, products and price. We are excited to have the opportunity to bring 78 years of Brookshire’s tradition to Celina.”
Brookshire Grocery Co. a Tyler-based grocery chain founded in 1928 on the principle of “legendary customer service,” offers carry-out service as well as other customer-friendly services throughout the store. The company currently operates 157 stores in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi under the Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Ole and ALPS banners.
The deli offers a variety of meats and cheeses sliced fresh to the customer’s specifications. The deli will also offer hot and cold selections including prepared fried chicken and pasta salads as well as a seating area. Customers are invited to check out Brookshire’s new BBQ Junction in the deli department. The Junction will sell an entire selection of barbecue favorites including freshly prepared barbecue brisket, pork, smoked sausage and pork ribs. Barbecue items will be available for sale by the pound or in prepared sandwiches.
Customers will find a wide selection of baked goods to fit every taste in Brookshire’s bakery. Cakes, cookies and doughnuts are always ready for on-the-go customers. Brookshire’s can also make custom birthday or wedding cakes.
In Brookshire’s floral department, floral expert can design elegant wedding or funeral arrangements, custom bouquets and corsages, as well as offer flowers for that special someone.
The new store operates a pharmacy with a drive-through window Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pharmacy is closed on Sunday. Customers’ prescriptions at the Frisco store were automatically transferred to the new pharmacy location in Celina.
The new store will also offer a full-service convenience store and gas station. The gas station features eight fuel pumps, a fully stocked convenience store including tobacco, beer and wine, and a drive-through sales window. Fuel center hours are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.
The most exciting element of the new store is its wide selection of Health and Harmony items. Health and Harmony is Brookshire’s response to customers’ requests to have natural and organic products available at the grocery store. Now it’s no longer necessary to make a special trip to the health food store to find specialty products—hundreds of items are found at Brookshire’s.
Natural products are items where no chemicals or other artificial ingredients are added. Organic products are natural products that also follow additional government-certified standards. Both natural and organic products are included in the Health and Harmony lineup.
Health and Harmony covers the full range of products customers want: including produce, meats and meat substitutes, dairy products, frozen foods, baking products, canned items, staples and even paper goods. Celina’s new store offers more than 1,400 Health and Harmony products, and the selection will continue to grow as new items become available.
During the store’s seven-week grand opening celebration, customers will automatically be registered to win one of 17 grand prizes each time they use their Thank You Card at the Celina grocery store. Prizes include: an LG 42-inch HDTV plasma television, Whirlpool Estate Side by Side refrigerator, Sony Dolby Digital surround sound system, four $250 Brookshire gift cards, and ten $100 Brookshire gift cards. Customer can also register to win free groceries and gasoline each week. Store hours are 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. The store accepts major credit cards including, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Pulse and American Express, and WIC. Western Union and money order services are also provided.

CELINA, TEXAS--The new Brookshire’s Food Store, located at 675 Sunset Blvd. (Hwy. 289) in Celina, began selling groceries at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27.
