Family Day Promoted in Brookshire’s Stores Brookshire’s promotes family day.

 

 

In today’s busy, “meet yourself coming and going” world, it seems no one has time anymore for family dinners. However, studies are showing that this simple ritual produces not only healthier children and teens, but lower rates of substance abuse in these groups.

 

For this reason, Sept. 25 has been designated national “Family Day,” now in its sixth year of promoting family togetherness through meals.

 

Family Day will be promoted in all BGC stores to emphasize the value of families sharing meals — and we’ll offer easy solutions so even the busiest households can participate.

 

Watch for information in the Sept. 20  sale ad, with family friendly recipes and other materials.

 

Family Day is a joint effort of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University, and the Partnership for Food Safety Education.
