Enjoy a Fuss-Free and Fast Family Meal Day!September 24 is Family Meal Day, and families around the country will be finding creative ways to spend time together, sharing a meal and sharing their lives. If you're not a big cook, though, don't fret. You can still have a wonderful family meal together, with very little work and very little cooking skills.

 

You'll find all the help you need in the frozen foods section of the store!

 

Take a stroll through the choices and you'll find just about everything you could want to make a tasty dinner for your family to enjoy. From pot pies to pizza to lasagna; from beef to chicken to pork to seafood; from biscuits to dessert—it's all there and most of the time, it only takes a few minutes to heat and serve!

 

If you're a bit more adventurous, you can take a frozen product and build on it to make a fabulous meal, like the recipe featured below:

 

Meatballs with Orzo

A Brookshire's Best Recipe

 

Ingredients:

1 onion, chopped

1 bell pepper, chopped

1 Tbsp olive oil

1 (14 oz) can fat-free beef broth

1 cup uncooked orzo pasta (or spaghetti broken into small pieces)

1 (1 lb) pkg. frozen, cooked meatballs

1 (14 oz) can diced or stewed tomatoes, undrained

 

Directions:

In a large skillet, cook the onion and pepper in oil until softened. Add beef broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the pasta, meatballs and canned tomatoes.

 

Cover and simmer on medium-low heat until the pasta is tender, about 7 to 8 minutes. Serve with grated parmesan cheese.\
