Commerce High School Back To School Lock-In – Our partners prepared goody bags and represented Brookshire’s at this recent event. They passed out over 200 bottles of water, 200 Brookshire recyclable bags, fruit, chips, notepads and pens. There were over 300 students and parents in attendance and they were all very excited to receive the items our partners were handing out.

Adoption Drive – Brookshire’s partnered with the Commerce Animal Shelter from 9 am – 12 pm. There were 3 pets adopted with more hopefully to come with the news of the shelter being spread. Partners donated 12 hours for this event.

Kid’s Day – Store hosted a Kid’s Day for the children of the community. They had volunteers from the police, fire and EMT dept. from 10 am – 3 pm. They showed the kids the fire truck, police car, ambulances and even a Care Flight helicopter. Partners from the store ran booths with various games and gave the kids prized donated by vendors.

All You Can Eat Crawfish Boil – The store hosted an all you can eat crawfish boil in front of the store. 4 partners combined with Fruge Seafood Company offered an exciting traditional dining experience. They provided an authentic Cajun environment and Cajun music was always. Customers enjoyed an eye opening experience to a new culture that is not so common in this area. All proceeds from the cook off were donated to the Commerce Animal Shelter.
