Congratulations to Tyler-area Brookshire Grocery Co. employees on winning first place for participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event in Tyler on May 9, 2009, benefiting the fight against breast cancer.
BGC had 502 partners participate in the event, more than doubling the second largest team at the function.
“We were so pleased to see such support by our employees for this very worthwhile endeavor,” said Rick Ellis, senior vice president-chief marketing officer. “This is a part of the company’s Community Connections program that we are rolling out across the company this year. Again, thanks and congratulations to all who participated.”
The new employee-volunteer program will roll out in stages to be complete by the end of 2009. The program assists retail stores and retail support services in becoming more involved in the communities they serve.
