Ribbon cutting ceremony for newly remodeled store

Bossier City, LA.BOSSIER CITY, LA.-- Brookshire’s Food Store, 4918 Barksdale Boulevard, held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, May 2, at 11 a.m. in celebration of it’s newly remodeled store.

 

The 37,500 square-foot store received some notable changes including the addition of a community-rich décor package, and approximately 1,200 new organic, natural and specialty items. The pharmacy has been moved to the front of the store where a two-lane drive-thru has been added.

 

The updated store will offer customers specialty services such as a self-service seafood counter in the market and specialty bread program in the bakery as well as updated produce and floral departments.

 

The new décor package includes photos and memorabilia from Barksdale Air Force Base, the historic transportation steamboats and local high schools. Photos were provided by Clifton Cardin, official Bossier Parish historian; Louisiana National Registry of Historic Places; The Library of Congress; www.steamboats.org; www.shreveport.com; Eric Brock and Gary Joiner; Parkway High School and The 8th Air Force Museum. 

 

“We want to thank our customers for being patient with us while we updated the store,” said Gary Lenderman, store director for Brookshire’s. “Our goal is to provide greater convenience and a more relaxed shopping experience for our customers and I believe we have done that with our remodel.”

 

The store is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The store accepts major credit cards including, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Pulse and American Express, and WIC. Western Union and money order services are also provided.
