Here's a tasty, toasty snack that will satisfy animal lovers large and small. These crunchy chips bake up in minutes and are low in fat, too. And the best part? This is a fun, easy project for kids of just about any age.
Younger children can pick out the cutters and arrange the chips on the pan; older helpers can do the actual cutting and baking. Because tortillas are easy to keep on hand (or in the freezer), this is the perfect spur-of-the-moment activity.
Take a few flour tortillas (corn tortillas or flour wraps would also work) and your favorite cookie cutters—preferably the ones in animal shapes. Cut out as many different shapes as you like; if you have a good variety of cookie cutters, you could make a whole zoo!
Arrange the tortilla cut-out shapes on a baking sheet and mist with butter-flavored cooking spray. Sprinkle with salt or sesame seeds, if desired.
Bake at 350°F for 5 to 7 minutes. Your chips are now ready for salsa, guacamole…..or just plain munching!
