Do cats irritate your allergies?

Do cats make your nose and eyes run?
Do you find yourself sniffling and sneezing before you even see a cat in a room?
Some people are allergic to cat fur, others to the protein in a cat's saliva. In general, short haired cats are better for people who have sensitivity toward cats.
Here are some tips for minimizing an allergic reaction to cats, especially if they live in your house:
1. Dander is often the cause of many allergic reactions, so groom and brush your cat outside as often as possible.
2. Cleaning and vacuuming frequently will keep much of the hair and dander out of your house.
3. Many cat owners experience some relief when they bathe their cats regularly.
4. Try an air filter.
5. If your allergic reactions to your cat suddenly increase, consult an allergist.
