1-2-3-4 Cake!

Kids will need supervision with this cake, especially because it involves the oven.

 

But the actual procedure is simple, fast and fun!


Serves 15

Prep time: 10 minutes; cook time: 60 minutes

 

 

 

Ingredients:

20 oz can crushed pineapple, undrained

21 oz can cherry pie filling

18.25 oz box yellow cake mix

2 sticks butter, each cut into 12 slices

1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 °F (325 if using a glass baking dish).

Pour undrained pineapple in a 9-x-12-inch baking pan and spread it out evenly.
Spread cherry pie filling evenly on top of the pineapple.
Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the cherry and pineapple layers.
Place butter slices evenly over cake mix.
Sprinkle nuts on top if you're using them.
Bake 60 minutes. Serve warm or cold, with ice cream, if desired.
