Healthy Living: Skinny Buffalo Dip


Skinny Buffalo DipSeeing the words “skinny” and “buffalo” in the same sentence is enough to make me want to do a happy dance. Happy dances burn calories, right? Win/win!

I’ve made no secret of my affinity for all things “buffalo,” and I love that this is a lightened up version of some of my favorite dips. Greek yogurt has actually become one of my favorite ingredients over the past year. I love the tanginess and texture, not to mention it imparts a ton of protein.

While we’re at it, where did a yummy combination of hot sauce, butter and bleu cheese get the name “buffalo” anyway? I’m going to have to look it up.

Skinny Buffalo Dip

Ingredients:
1/2 cup light mayonnaise
7 oz plain Greek yogurt
2 Tbsp buffalo sauce
1/4 to 1/2 tsp garlic powder
4 oz bleu cheese

Directions:
Mix together the mayo, Greek yogurt and buffalo sauce.  Slowly add the garlic powder, starting with 1/4 tsp and adding a little more at a time until you reach the desired taste.

Top with bleu cheese and serve with cut veggies.
