Earth Day is April 22nd this year and you can celebrate by making a planter from reusable material like an old milk jug. Save your milk cartons, cut the tops off and wash them out. Collect old newspapers and magazines from around the house. Let your children cut out pictures in newspapers or magazines to decorate their milk jug planters.
Help them glue their pictures onto the jugs. Set aside the planters for a few hours so the glue can dry. Poke a few holes into the bottom of the planter and fill with potting soil. Help your children plant seeds or flowers and watch them grow throughout the spring!
