The 41,000-square-foot Brookshire’s Food & Pharmacy in West Monroe, La., unveiled its new look February 16. Miss La. Kelsi Crain, along with a host of local officials, helped out during the ribbon cutting celebration at the store located on Cypress Street.
The store was expanded by approximately 1,000 square feet, and the store front was completely redone with a new logo, signage and an earth-tone color scheme. The fuel center’s canopy, columns and kiosk were upgraded.
Floor tile was removed in most areas and refurbished, leaving an easy-to-maintain polished concrete floor that matches new signage, paint and interior finishes. An automated lighting system was installed to accommodate natural lighting and more energy-efficient bulbs. Eight new checkstands were added.
Specialty areas include a relocated and enlarged pharmacy with a pneumatic tube delivery to a new drive-through window, as well as a bakery, deli, service meat and seafood along with a sushi bar, and a floral department relocated near the front. Workers have designed a new area for in-store dining, along with a beverage bar and gourmet cheese department.
Produce and dairy departments received new cases and coolers. Grocery, perishable and frozen foods departments received new endcaps, cases and gondolas. The market, bakery and deli departments have received new equipment as well.
“We are excited about the improvements, especially the improved produce and floral sections and the addition of sushi, which has been very popular already,” said Store Director Mike Pierot. “We thank our customers for their continued support and hope they enjoy the new and improved features here. We’re glad to be able to show off our store with a reopening celebration.”
