Family Matters: Meat Loaf

Meat LoafThese days spending quality time with your family seems almost impossible.  Sunday for our family is the day we set aside by first worshiping together at church and then going home and enjoying a sit down lunch as a family.

We visit, laugh and catch up on the happenings of the prior week.  A home with four kids gets pretty hectic at times, but just sitting down together for a meal brings things back to what is most important – our family. One of our favorite meals is homemade meat loaf, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans.

Below are two easy recipes you can enjoy with your family.

Meat Loaf

Ingredients:
5 lbs Ground Meat
1 1/2 pkgs/sleeve of Food Club Saltine Crackers
3 Eggs
1 (16 oz) Jar of Food Club Medium Salsa
Add little bit of Worcestershire Sauce
Sprinkle in Morton’s Natural Seasonings

Directions:
Mix these ingredients all together and put in a 9 X 12 pan and bake at 350 for approximately 45 – 55 minutes.

While the meatloaf is cooking take two cans of Kentucky Wonder Green Beans, add 2 Tbs of Virgin Olive Oil, 2 tsp of margarine and a touch of Morton’s Natural Seasonings. Cook on the stove top on medium heat while the meat loaf is cooking.  When you sit down to eat, you will think you are eating fresh green beans out of the garden.

Hope you set aside some extra time this week for your family and enjoy a meal together.  Count your blessings daily and give thanks for the time you share with your family.
