A ground-breaking ceremony was held today for Fresh by Brookshire’s, the company’s new concept store dedicated to helping customers discover the wonders of food. The mayor, Tyler city officials, the Board of Directors, and local media were on hand to mark the event. The store will bring more than 200 new jobs to the area and will employ a culinary team of more than 75. Customers should expect to find expanded fresh departments from the market, seafood, deli, produce, and floral areas, but they will also discover brands and varieties of grocery items not normally found on the shelves of traditional grocery stores. In addition to expanded varieties, the store will feature 60 to 80 chef-prepared recipes each week and artisan breads baked fresh daily on site. The chef-prepared area will be viewable by customers and the store’s team will be focused on engaging customers—teaching them about new products or just helping them select prepared foods to take home for dinner.
BGC has spent two years researching, and company leaders believe Fresh incorporates the right mix of what Tyler customers really want. Besides traditional departments and expanded food service offerings, the 55,000-square foot store will feature a full burrito bar, sandwich bar, soup and salad bar, coffee/Italian gelato bar, bulk foods, expanded health and wellness items, and a pharmacy.
