The big news in Anna, Texas, on Wednesday, July 2, was the grand opening of the new Brookshire’s Food Store, with customers pouring in to get great deals and meet the staff. A ribbon cutting kicked off activities with county commissioners proclaiming it “Brookshire’s Day in Collin County.”
A day earlier local officials and business leaders packed the store for an open house that included food samples, store tours and entertainment.
Among the many features of the 44,800-square-foot store are a self-service fuel center, pharmacy with a drive-through, tasting center and a coffee bar.
“This is a growing community that was being underserved from a grocery standpoint,” said Store Director Donald Nutt. “This is an upscale store with a lot of services and amenities, and it should fulfill a definite void in grocery convenience for this area. We’re happy to be here and thank everyone who had a part in getting this store open!”
